Marriage Ministry at Nazareth
Marriage Mentoring
Strengthening marriages . . . one couple at a time
Because Nazareth recognizes the importance of building strong marriages by working through life's challenges, we offer a minstry called Marriage Mentoring.
The purpose of marriage mentoring is to lovingly foster lifelong marriages by walking alongside couples who are less experienced than their mentors.
The ministry is designed to create a safe place for couples to reveal their feelings and needs to one other couple in privacy and in confidence.
How Marriage Mentoring Works
Marriage Mentoring pairs experienced married couples with a couple who is seeking to strengthen their relationship by working through one or more challenges.
Marraige Mentors not only share the blessings of their own marriage with the other couple -- they listen. Working together, the tow couples share experiences, establish priorities, and set goals. Marriage Mentors support the personal and spiritual growth of the couple while helping them improve their relationship.
The Focus of Marriage Mentoring
Marriage Mentoring focuses on three areas:
Preparing: Building solid foundations for engaged and newlywed couples
Maximizing: Deepening and enriching stable marriages
Repairing: Encouraging couples in distress
Who is a candidate for Marriage Mentoring?
At some point, couples of all ages and stages find themselves wanting more from their relationships.
Engaged and newlywed couples can learn how to establish habits that contribute to a successful marriage.
A stable couple can make the leap from a good marriage to a great one.
A couple in distress can begin to understand how minor and major difficulties can actually strengthen their relationship and increase their love for one another. With the help and encouragement of their marriage mentors, the couple can repair and revitalize their marriage.
Marriage Mentoring is not a marriage counseling service.
Nazareth Marriage Mentors have undergone preparation for talking with other couples, but they are not trained counselors. If professional help is needed, Nazareth can help direct couples to the resources they need.
