Holy Communion is a means of grace through which we are strengthened in our faith and witness through the love and mercy of God as it comes to us through the body and blood of Christ.  Communion is offered weekly at the 9:50 a.m. worship service and at the 8:30 and 11:10 a.m. services on the first Sunday of each month.  In Holy Communion, God meets us as we are and where we are. All are welcome to share in Communion at Nazareth. Because we desire that all who share in Christ’s body and blood will receive the blessings promised therein, and because the Scriptures call for self-examination prior to participating in Communion (1 Corinthians 11:28), we have found the following questions helpful to consider:

  • Have I been baptized in the name of the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit?
  • Do I believe that I am a sinful human being without hope of eternal life apart from God’s mercy in Jesus Christ?
  • Do I believe that Jesus is God’s one and only Son and my personal Savior?
  • Do I believe that He is really and personally present in the Sacrament of Holy Communion with His body and blood?
  • Do I intend by the power of the Holy Spirit to turn from sin and strive to live according to God’s will?
